"You're welcome." April turned on her heel and walked away.

"Can you find your way, now?" April asked. Darkness had spread over the forest; she was sure Aspen could get to Camp Half-Blood, now. They had reached camp, almost. She twirled around, facing Aspen. She started walking backwards; she glanced behind, occasionally. She gave Aspen half of a smile.

"I like orchids, and roses." she said, looking up at the sky, they had to be really close to camp.

"I can," April said. She wondered why she could; most other dryads couldn't leave Camp Half-Blood. She ran her fingers through her dark hair. "What's your favorite flower?" she asked, changing the subject. April got uncomfortable when her "ability" was discussed. "I like all of them. If you ask me, I can't pick a favorite."

April nodded. "When I went to Indiana, I had no idea what to do. People saw me as a physcotic girl that was nuts about nature." Her voice was steady; however, anger and bitterness were woven into her tone. "I taught them a lesson. Mocking me is a mistake they'll never make." Her voice nearly shook with her anger. "I should move on," she added; her tone softening, slightly, as she said this.

"Why? Didn't you fit in?" April asked. The usual answer was no. Sometimes, it was accompanied by the demigod yelling at April to mind her own business. She didn't care, though. Her fear of demigods - and their weapons and powers - were fading. She had her own weapon, now. She didn't care if she used it.

"Here, I like to read, and swim. At the orphanage, I liked to find hiding spots so none of the other kids could find me." Aspen said, looking to the sky, the stars were finally out, and she could tell they were going the right way.

April smirked. "I feel sorry for what's remaining of the poor hikers," she said, cheerfully. "They wouldn't be much than dry bone, I suppose." She didn't even shudder. Gore didn't scare her, anymore. "What did you do for fun? Or did I already ask you that?"

"Sorry." April blushed. "Didn't you see any Laistrygonians?" She thought Laistrygonians lived in Canada, since they were called Canadians, too. She sighed, with relief, as they passed the waterfall. It was getting colder and the spray had been chilly. She let her hands drop to the side.

"You don't have to yell." Aspen said "I can hear you perfectly." Aspen was sprayed with cold water as she passed the falls. "About a year ago, a satyr finally found me, that is, after i snuck across the border into Canada, the only magical thing i saw there were hyperborean giants, and they're every where.

April nodded. Tons of demigods had run away from orphanages and homes. They reached a waterfall - the main source of Zephyros Creek. She could barely hear the other noises over the roar of the waterfall. "How long have you been at Camp Half-Blood?" she yelled, hoping Aspen would hear her. The waterfall sprayed her with cool water, as she walked by it. She shivered, rubbing her arms.

"Yeah, its pretty close to Vancouver," Aspen said, looking around the forest, "I never really could go anywhere, I was a foster kid. Never knew my dad, nor my mom now that you think about it. Whenever I ran away I ended up going back to the same city, sometimes even the same home. I kept track by writing it on the bottom of one of my shoes. Thirteen." She said.

"Whistler?" April furrowed her brow; she was trying to remember where it was. "Whistler, Canada?" It was dark now; the sun had fully set. "Well, icy fields don't sound nice. There isn't any greenery in icy fields," she said. I wonder why she likes it? April thought, making her face blank of any expression. She continued onward.

"Yeah, that's why my mother chose it, because there are no gods to beat her up. And yeah Aspen is in Colorado. I don't have a passport either, never had enough money to get one, and there's nothing really on the other side of the border, just icy fields Until you get to Whistler." she explained

"Alaska? It's the land beyond the gods, right?" April asked; she continued along the creek. "Anyway, I'd like to visit Paris. It seems quite pretty in the pictures. However, I don't have a passport." She sighed, a wistful expression crossing her face. "If I had one, I'd tour the world. Life in Camp Half-Blood is so boring." She paused, momentarily. "Aspen is in Colarado, right?" she asked, forcing a smile.

Aspen glanced around the forest, she knew then sun was down now, as she could feel her senses getting stronger. "I like aspen, for starters. Never been there though, I've only seen pictures. I lived in Fairbanks Alaska all my life until I came here." she heard an owl hoot far away.

"So, what do you like to do?" April asked, her tone cheerful. "I like to sing and, well, ride my demigod friend's horse. I'm one of those dryads that isn't tied to her tree. What's your favorite city?" April always got talkative. She asked many questions at once, not even aware of it. She was curious about Aspen's opinions. She turned her head to look at Aspen, momentarily. She faced the front again.

Thank the gods I didn't get attacked, April thought. She hid a smile as she started to walk along the creak. After a few steps, she turned. "C'mon," she called. She took a few more steps and looked back, making sure that Aspen was following. It was almost dusk. Only a few freckles of sunshine were showing through the thick greenery of the forest.
